Ballylinan Conquer Croke Park

On Friday 5th April Ballylinan GAA Club sent two teams from our Under-8 squad to Dublin for the Leinster GAA Croke Park Experience Day. Under the guidance of their coaches Ollie Walsh, Paul Julian, Jimmy McGrath and Tina Buckley all the players got to sample Croke Park in all its glory.

The players and their parents left Ballylinan at 10am bursting with excitement and the day lived up to everything that was expected. On arrival in Croke Park the players were taken to the dressing rooms and warm up area under the Cusack Stand, then it was out of the tunnel only pausing for a group photo before meeting their opponents Knockanana of Wicklow and Kildavin/Clonegal of Carlow. Ballylinan played some excellent football which is a credit to the coaches and were comfortable winners in both games.

Next stop was McDonalds on the Naas Road for the best they had to offer! These young players were excellent ambassadors for Ballylinan GAA Club and the excellent manner in which they conducted themselves was commented on by Leinster GAA Officials, so well done to all parents, coaches and especially our young players.

The Players who lined out for Ballylinan in the two games were;
Josh Nolan, Mackenzie McIvor, Sean Og McHugh, Tadhg McGrath, James Hovenden, Karol Donohue, James Walsh, Tom Bride, Darragh Loughman, Ally Brennan, Jack Dunne, Alex McDonagh, Eoin Dunne, Katie Dunne, Erick Murphy, Mikey Walsh, Bobby Walsh, Conor Walsh, Katie Dunne, Eoin Brennan, Aoibhen Buckley, Alan Behan, Patrick Julian. Not present on the day Arron Ward, Diarmud Downey.

Ballylinan GAA Club was also well represented by six of our Go-Games Referees taking charge of proceedings on the pitch; this was a very enjoyable experience for Cathal Dunne, Tomas Lacey, Evan Phillips, Seamus McAulliffe, Gavin La Combre and James Murphy. Well done lads and keep up the good work.
